Distress Signals

From ScoutHelp

If you heard or saw a distress would you know what to do next?

WELL YOU SHOULD!

IT COULD SAVE LIVES!

As part off the scouting movement you should know what all the distress signals are and how you should respond if you hear or see one. It could save a life or lives, you could be famous! You never know what might happen next! For all I know this whole website could be lost so I make backups! You should be prepared!

A world wide signal is SOS which takes for "Save Our Soles" and can be sent out in many different ways by flag, Morse or letter. The other form is for when you can get to a radio transmitter and you should say "May Day, May Day" then give a rough location once you get a reply.

Be Prepared... the meaning of the motto is that a scout must prepare himself by previous thinking out and practicing how to act on any accident or emergency so that he is never taken by surprise.
